When Editors' blistering guitars and synths start reverberating and Tom Smith's recognisable baritone voice sings the first notes, every hair on your arms is guaranteed to stand up. The Birmingham-based band has had a close relationship with Belgium since debut album 'The Back Room', just look at all the sold out concert venues and bulging festival tents. Even though Editors love to bathe in introspective lyrics and general gloom, their agitated songs remain overwhelming in the most enlightening way. With their most recent record 'EBM', the group gravitates more towards electronic instruments than guitars, but every song remains impressive and enchanting. An end has a start, but the end point of love for Editors is far from sight. They will confirm their status as the ultimate festival band on Saturday 29 June at Live is Live!
