Luck was clearly not on Alvvay’s side when the demo’s for their latest record ‘Blue Rev’ were stolen, when there were floods in Toronto and when there was a worldwide pandemic. But here we are, years later, and the Canadian band can finally play their sunny guitardriven music for us. Alvvays floats on a nostalgic happy sounding cloud, but listen closer and you hear singer Molly Rankin asking the more gritty questions about the ways of life. Styles like rock and dream pop entangle in the hazy songs of the Canadians, providing the ideal addition in this Friday lineup.
